16th Annual Brunch Awardees and Speakers

ELLA Program Speaker

Zaydee Serrano is from San Diego, CA, and her family is from both Mexico and El Salvador. A first-generation college graduate, she earned her degree in Politics and Legal Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz. She has been with the Latina Coalition since January 2026 and is a graduate of both the ELLA and PALA programs. As part of her ELLA cohort, she and her fellow ELLA sisters co-founded Latinas Breaking Barriers for Career Mobility, a space that offers professional development resources to Latinas, and they continue to grow it together beyond the program. Zaydee has also served as Communications Director for two women running for City Council and she volunteers with Second Harvest of Silicon Valley. She dreams of becoming a community advocate at the local, state, and federal levels, focused on quality of life issues for women and the Latino community. Outside of her community work, Zaydee loves playing video games, going to concerts and spoiling her three cats.
